How do I join the scheme?

If you wish to join the Scheme, please complete the form below and return it to your employers payroll section. Once they have received your form they will opt you into the ERPF and contributions will be deducted from your next available pay date.

    This form must be completed before any of your benefits can be paid as it tells us important information about any other benefits you may have with other Local Government Pension Scheme Funds which effect the payment of your benefits for the ERPF.

    What is a Transfer In Request Form and do I need to complete one?

    If you would like to investigate a transfer of your previous pension benefits into the Local Government Pension Scheme then you can download the forms you need to complete here. If you would like to investigate a transfer of your previous pension benefits into the Local Government Pension Scheme please contact ERPF to obtain the relevant forms.

    The forms should be completed by you, where indicated and then sent to your Previous Pension Provider for them to send you the details we need to investigate the transfer for you.  Once you receive the information from your previous scheme you should send it straight to the ERPF.

    Transfers are only accepted in the LGPS within the first 12 months of joining the scheme and transfers can take many months to complete so if you have previous pension benefits and would like to look investigate a transfer you need to make sure you request and forward the information we need immediately. 

    What is a Death Grant Expression of Wish Form and why should I complete one?

    If you have not already received this form you will soon be receiving one as part of your welcome pack. 

    The ERPF has absolute discretion over who receives any lump sum death grant however, the LGPS allows you to express your wish as to who you would like any death grant to be paid to by completing and returning the Death Grant Expression of Wish form.

    Unfortunately the ERPF will only accept Expression of Wish forms with original signatures so this form cannot be completed online.
